Dear Colleague,
I am writing to announce an opening for a postdoctoral researcher in the
condensed matter theory (CMT) group of the University of Colorado at
Boulder Department of Physics. I would greatly appreciate your bringing
this opportunity to the attention of any strong candidates. The
successful candidate will carry out research in collaboration with the
faculty of the CMT group, who are Victor Gurarie, Michael Hermele and Leo
Radzihovsky, and will have the opportunity to interact and collaborate
with faculty in related areas, including Oliver DeWolfe, Ana Maria Rey,
Paul Romatschke, and others. Candidates with interests and experience in
any area of CMT are encouraged to apply. Research areas of particular
interest for this position include, but are not limited to: novel phases
of quantum matter, topological order, quantum magnetism, strongly
correlated materials, many-body physics of ultra-cold atoms, quantum field
theory, and the intersection of quantum information science with condensed
matter theory.
The position is expected to begin in Fall 2014 (although this is
flexible). Review of applications will begin on November 1, 2013.
Interested candidates should send -- as soon as possible -- a CV, list of
publications, and a brief statement of research interests to Prof. Michael
Hermele at hermele@colorado.edu, and arrange for two or more letters of
recommendation to be sent to the same email address.
Candidates must ALSO apply officially through the University of Colorado's
online jobs system at the following link:
http://www.jobsatcu.com/postings/73290
Please note the following instructions for filling out the online application:
1. Recommendation letters do not need to be uploaded to the
online system. Please do not specify any references in the online system.
2. You will need to upload three documents in order to submit your
application. These are a curriculum vitae, proof of degree, and "Document 1."
For proof of degree, it is sufficient to upload a pdf file stating
when/where you received your PhD degree, or when/where you expect to
receive it. For "Document 1," you should upload your statement of
research interests. (The system labels Document 1 as a letter of
recommendation, but please ignore this, and upload your research statement.)
For further information or with any questions, please contact Prof.
Michael Hermele at hermele@colorado.edu.
Sincerely,Michael Hermele
