Two postdoctoral/researcher appointments are offered for researchers in
condensed matter theory with excellent curriculum vitae.
The candidates will join the team funded by the ERC Advanced Grant project
"Controlling Electric Signals with Insulating Antiferromagnets and
Insulating Ferromagnets". This project is led by Professor Arne Brataas at
the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim, Norway.
The contracts will have a duration of 2 to 5 years depending on
qualifications and experience and start in the fall of 2015 or later. The
gross salary is around 480 000 NOK (63 000 $) per year, and one should
expect to pay roughly 30% in taxes.
Aspiring candidates should be strongly motivated and have a solid
background in condensed matter theory. Researchers with a background in
spintronics and quantum transport theory, magnetization dynamics,
spin-transfer torques, spin-pumping or related fields are encouraged to
apply.
We hope our group provides a friendly and excellent environment for
research. In our group, there are currently one post-doc researcher and
six PhD students working on various aspects of theoretical spintronics.
Living in the historical capital of Trondheim is very charming. Trondheim
has a rich cultural lift to offer for its 25 000 students and in total 180
000 inhabitants.
The Norwegian University of Science and Technology is a top university in
Norway; two of our researchers were awarded Nobel prizes for work carried
out here last year.
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The candidates should send their application by e-mail to
Arne.Brataas@ntnu.no with the subject: ERC AG
postdoc application (family name of the applicant). The following
documentation should be attached:
* CV
* a one-two-page description of your research discussing your research results
* list of publications
* a cover letter that discusses your motivation to apply for this post-doc/researcher position.
* As well as the names, and full contact details of two referees to
