Postdoctoral Position in Condensed Matter Theory
George Mason University (GMU), Center for Quantum Science (CQS) seeks a postdoctoral associate to pursue theoretical research on strongly correlated electron systems. Main research subject will be the magnetism and superconductivity of iron-pnictides and other similar materials. Preference will be given to candidates with training in many-body theory and experience with numerical calculations. The CQS is affiliated with the department of Physics and the department of Computational and Data Sciences at GMU. The University has a 500-node supercomputer available to the members of CQS. This position will offer opportunities for building collaborations with Quantum Science institutes at NIST, NRL and John Hopkins University. Applicants must have a PhD in condensed matter theory or a closely related area; demonstrated record of original research and a proven ability to communicate complex scientific results via peer-reviewed journal articles and conference presentations.
