Microscopic approaches to the Ising Spin Glass
We first briefly review properties of the mean-field-like approach to the ISG and the features of this approach that conflict with the droplet-like description. We then propose a Lagrangean that treats replicas differently and leads to properties (order parameter, large distance correlations, etc.) compatible with the droplet view. We derive and utilize Ward-Takahashi identities that must be satisfied in both microscopic approaches to assure that the zero modes persist.
